Lead Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship – Level 3
What will I be doing?
A Lead Adult Care Worker leads frontline care for vulnerable adults within their own homes, day care centres, residential and nursing homes and other healthcare settings. The care and support from a Lead Adult Care Worker will support vulnerable adults to achieve their personal goals and live as independently as possible, so that they have choice and control in their daily lives.
A Lead Adult Care Worker will also have responsibility for providing supervision, frontline leadership, guidance and direction for others, or working autonomously, exercising judgement and accountability.

What qualifications will I get?
- Institute for Apprenticeships Apprenticeship Adult Care Worker, achievable at Pass, Merit or Distinction. This includes a situational judgement test and a professional discussion through end point assessment
- Level 3 Diploma in Care
- Level 2 Certificate in Functional Skills English
- Level 2 Certificate in Functional Skills Mathematics
What are the entry requirements?
Undertake the Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) process and provide the result prior to starting.
Typical job titles include:
Care Officer, Care Supervisor, Senior Care Worker, Supervising Care Worker, Senior Support Worker, or Personal Assistant. These could all specialise in a variety of areas such as learning disability, homecare, dementia and end-of-life care
What can I do afterwards?
This apprenticeship provides an ideal entry into the occupation and supports progression within the sector.
You may be able to progress to a Level 4 or Level 5 apprenticeship depending on your progression and job role.
