Acorn Training launches new Burton Upon Trent office to partners & stakeholders at opening event
(Tuesday 26 October 2021) Award-winning national training provider, Acorn Training, today opens its new office in Burton Upon Trent at a launch event with the Mayor of East Staffordshire – Councillor Patricia Ackroyd and Consort Mike Ackroyd, Councillor George Allen, Partners and Stakeholders. This latest office launch adds to the company’s footprint across the Midlands, comprising offices in Coalville, Chesterfield, Hinckley, Daventry, Loughborough and headquarters in Stoke-on-Trent.
The office is located on the ground floor of Milton House on Worthington Way, central to the town’s amenities and easily accessible by the public. The office will serve as a hub of support for the community where the Acorn Training team will deliver their employability, skills, training and youth service work.
Around 20 employees will be based from the office, providing tailored support to customers through the delivery of employability coaching and learning opportunities, enabling access to work within a range of different industries and sectors. Acorn Training will also deliver their comprehensive adult learning courses from this location; providing online and classroom-based teaching to help individuals to develop their skills for both life and work.
Following the company’s recent success in securing a place as a subcontractor on the new Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) Restart Scheme, Acorn Training will use this new office to deliver intensive employability support as part of the East Central region contract, awarded to Jobs22, to provide support for job seekers in the East Midlands, Lincolnshire, Bedfordshire, Luton and Stoke and Staffordshire.
In addition to offering employability, skills training and youth services, Acorn Training will be bringing their renowned holistic and person-centred approach to Burton; providing robust wrap-around support and breaking down barriers for those battling mental & physical health conditions, people from disadvantaged backgrounds, ex-offenders and minority groups.
Commenting on the launch, Gareth Saldanha-Fallows, Managing Director, said “We are delighted to be expanding our footprint to Burton, bringing our strong core values and inclusive ethos to provide opportunity to individuals from all backgrounds. We are proud to work in partnership with Jobs 22 in the East Staffordshire district where we intend to support at least 2,200 unemployed individuals into sustained employment over the next 5 years; making a significant impact on the lives of those individuals and families who have experienced the unemployment challenges of the pandemic and those with barriers to work such as #health, wellbeing, low level skills and disabilities.”
Madam Mayor, Councillor Patricia Ackroyd, discusses the opening of the new centre “I’m thrilled to announce that the Burton on Trent branch of Acorn Training is open. It’s lovely to be invited and to learn all about how the team will be supporting the people of East Staffordshire. It’s exciting to see the new centre and understand how residents in the Borough will benefit from the employability and training services delivered by the team here. I wish Acorn Training the best of luck in their endeavours in Burton”.
