We were delighted to welcome MP Gareth Snell to our Hanley head office for the recent Hanley Jobs Fair, where he met with local employers and saw first-hand the impact of our work in supporting individuals—particularly those who have been on long-term benefits—back into employment.
The event brought together a wide range of employers from sectors including care, construction, warehousing, and education, all offering live vacancies and eager to connect with motivated job seekers. MP Snell took time to speak with each employer, learning more about their recruitment needs and how Acorn Training is helping to bridge the gap between opportunity and talent.
Reflecting on the event, MP Snell shared: “I was pleased to be invited to Acorn Training’s Jobs Fair. It was great to meet so many of the businesses and training providers who are working with Acorn Training to provide jobs and opportunities to local people.”
His visit highlighted the importance of collaborative, community-based approaches to tackling unemployment. Many attendees at the fair were individuals who have faced long-term barriers to work, and events like this provide a vital platform for them to re-engage with the job market in a supportive and empowering environment.
We’re proud of the positive feedback received from both employers and participants, and we’re grateful to MP Gareth Snell for recognising the value of our work. His support reinforces our mission to help people build brighter futures through meaningful employment.
