About the Apprenticeship
Leadership skills are key to driving the success of a business by developing strategic aims, objectives, policies, procedures, systems, and required change to maintain competitiveness. Learners should be in a middle management or department management role with responsibility for other staff and the day-to-day business operation. You will work towards the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management, which will teach:
- How to translate strategy to operational plans
- Strategic change management models and processes
- How to develop policies, procedures, and business systems
- Budget management skills
- Staff leadership and management skills
- Project management skills
- How to manage business risk
- How to manage health and safety in a business environment
- How to optimise the use of technology
- You must have recently been promoted to an operational management role or be working towards promotion.
- You should have team leading or supervisor experience.
What qualifications will the learner receive?
- Apprenticeship Standard End Point Assessment in Operations and Department Management at Level 5, achievable at Pass, Merit or
Distinction. This includes a scenario based test, a competency based interview, review of portfolio evidence, presentation of a work
based project, continued professional development log review and professional discussion.
